Two Truths and A Lie about Climate Change

Workers in Green Jobs
Workers in Green Jobs

Leading through sustainability is multi-dimensional. Writing will continue to be a cornerstone of my work as I explore these dimensions and share my findings with you.

In my most recent LinkedIn article, I captured a challenge facing businesses in the US and globally: how to prepare current and incoming workers for the green economy.

Let’s play the game “Two Truths and a Lie” about climate change. Which of the below are truth or lie?

One, humanity is on thin ice. The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change starkly lays out the extreme heat, rise in sea level, and loss of biodiversity that will impact our communities and livelihood if global emissions are not reduced by at least 43% by 2030.

Two, everyone’s job is a green job. Every worker sitting in front of a computer, standing on a factory line, and even driving a tractor can help reduce harmful carbon emissions through their everyday work.

Three, all of us are skilled up for these carbon-busting jobs. In the United States, we already have the green technical skills we need to tackle this challenge.

Which ones are the truths and which one is a lie? Find out the answer and what to do to about it in my LinkedIn article.
